This Friendbot shows gestural expressions of frustration using the motion of the head, hand, and beeps to send signals to anyone listening. This version of the Friendbot features [micro:bit V2](https://microbit.org/new-microbit/) (version 2). Use the microphone input for the robot to express in an immediate manner with the servo motor and the speaker to play sounds as outputs. When you speak or make a sudden sound, what will your Friendbot do?

Preparation

Start building the head's base

Create a beam and slide on the head's base

Make and attach another beam to finish the head's base

Build the head's top

Attach the top to finish the head

Build the base of the body

Make an arm then slide on the body

Build the top for the body

Attach the top to the body then lock the arm

Build leg beams then click to the body

Build a pair of feet

Assemble the micro:bit, clip, and 2 servo motors

Clip the Robotics board and servo motor A on the body

Clip servo motor B to the Friendbot's back

Connect to computer using USB cable

Start a new project on Makecode

Add Strawbees extension

Pair the micro:bit

Turn on the Robotics board

Zero the servo motors

Make an arm then attach on servo motor B

Click the head to the body

Lock the back of the head into the body

Create a neck beam then attach to servo motor A

Fit the head to neck beam on tservo motor A

Program the Friendbot to react to sound

Program the Friendbot to make sound when hearing a sound

Program a beating heart animation

Add eyes to the robot then test conversing with your Friendbot!
