The Boreal forest biome, also known as Taiga, is an expansive-forested region situated in the Northern Hemisphere. Distinguished by its coniferous pine and spruce trees, the Boreal forest experiences a prolonged period of cold temperatures lasting for several months. This forest provides habitat for various wildlife species such as bears, moose, moss, and reindeer.

Preparation

The only plants and organisms that grow well in a boreal forest biome are coniferous trees, fungi (like mushrooms), and lichens. Organisms that require warm environments would be unlikely to thrive. Deciduous trees shed their leaves during winter to conserve energy and avoid water loss, which is not a survival strategy that is well adapted to the boreal forest.
